Well-Being Travel Symposium Heads to Canada for Agent Education
by Andrew Sheivachman /Wellness travel is big business for travel professionals, and the second annual Well-Being Travel Symposium is headed to Toronto to bring in-depth education, networking and leading suppliers to agents interested in breaking into the expanding niche.
The two-day event, set to take place June 15-16 at the International Plaza Hotel & Conference Center in Toronto, will give travel sellers the tools to reach new clients and expand their understanding of how travelers are incorporating wellness into their vacations. The conference is co-sponsored by Travel Market Report.
“While the wellness travel category continues to grow, the Well-Being Travel Symposium is the only program of its kind dedicated to bringing together wellness travel agent specialists with the suppliers who truly understand this fast growing consumer market,” said Anne Marie Moebes, executive vice president of Well-Being Travel.
Must-have education
Travel sellers who attend will gain an in-depth understanding of wellness tourism from the latest research gleaned from travel agent and consumer surveys, and supplier trends.
Information also will include how spa travel fits in with wellness, the leading destinations for wellness travel, who today’s wellness travelers are—their preferences and spending habits-- and the differences between primary and secondary wellness travel.
“The symposium will focus on destinations, hotels, spa resorts, cruise lines and packages that have developed products and services for this important niche,” said Moebes. “We will also educate agents on the sales and marketing tools essential to find this client.”
Marketing to different wellness target groups—among them millennials, Gen Xers, baby boomers and affluent travelers—will also be a focus.
A trade show will connect travel professionals with the top brands and destinations in the wellness travel world.
