ScanTours, a Scandinavia specialist tour operator, has closed according to the Association of British Travel Agent's (ABTA) Web site. This is not the same company as California-based ScanTours Inc. USA, which is still in operation.

The London-based company also operated as Brief Encounters, Iceland Adventures, Scandinavian Holidays, ScanMeridian, Summer Adventures, Travel Scandinavia and Winter Adventures.

According to the ABTA notice, any claims arising in respect of non-licensable package business should be reffered to the Association's claims handling partner, CEGA. Any claims in respect of licensable activities should be referred to the CAA.

The ABTA claims period will close on Aug. 26. All claims and supporting documentation must be received prior to this date. The ABTA Claims enquiries office can be contacted by e-mail at abtaclaims@cegagroup.com.
