Sabre Travel Network plans to sunset Sabre .Res, its online booking engine for travel agencies, by the end of the year.
As a replacement, Sabre is launching a new program that will allow Sabre agencies to choose from a range of online booking engine providers from around the world that are Sabre-authorized third-party developers.
The program is available in the Americas, Europe, Middle East and Africa.
As part of the program, Sabre will launch an online booking engine designed specifically for travel agencies in Europe, the Middle East and Africa this month.
It was developed in conjunction with U.K.-based Billian IT Solutions.
Advanced online capabilities
Sabre said the new booking engine will provide agencies with advanced online website capabilities such as quick search, calendar shopping, branding options and access to its Bargain Finder Max tool.
The engine gives consumers access to real-time fares, allowing them to book air, including low-cost carriers, hotel rooms and rental cars.
The technology can sit behind an agency’s branded website, providing new functionality such as access to airline seat maps, fare rules and transaction reporting.
