Hurtigruten has completed the first 2 of 11 refurbs to its ships.
The Kong Harald and Polarlys have both undergone extensive refurbishments. Both ships now have new interiors and furnishings, and their reception foyers, cafes, and bistro areas have been redesigned with modern Scandinavian interiors. The restaurants also have been transformed through a partnership with local Scandinavian food suppliers.
The next two ships scheduled for refurbs—the Nordkapp and the Nordnorge—will be completed in April and May, respectively.
Hurtigruten also announced it has purchased and will refurbish the MS Spitsbergen for polar waters, with the cabins, suites, and public spaces all being upgraded. It will join the Hurtigruten fleet later this spring
