BermudAir Adds New Direct Flights to Canada
by Sarah Milner /Bermuda-based BermudAir is bringing its boutique offerings to Canada.
The airline announced Thursday (March 28) that it will expand its operations to include year-round direct flights three times a week from L.F. Wade International Airport (BDA) to Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) starting May 17, and Halifax Stanfield Airport (YHZ) starting May 25. Tickets are now on sale and are priced at a special introductory rate until April 10.
At the time of writing, BermudAir is the only airline offering a direct flight between Bermuda and Halifax. (Air Canada offers a year-round direct flight between Toronto and Bermuda via its low-cost carrier, Air Canada Rouge.)
The first airline based out of Bermuda, BermudAir launched last summer, initially offering all business-class seats with perks like free wifi, complimentary checked luggage, meals, and spacious seating. The airline has since added an economy class to its operations. BermudAir will use Embraer E175 on the Canadian routes, featuring 14 seats in a business cabin and 52 seats in an economy cabin.
In addition to the upcoming Toronto and Halifax flights, BermudAir also flies to Boston Logan (BOS), Westchester County (HPN), Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood (FLL), Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI), and Orlando International (MCO).
“There has been strong demand for travel between Bermuda and Canada and we’re proud to continue delivering on our commitment to provide additional connectivity with these new routes,” said Adam Scott, founder and CEO of BermudAir, in a statement. “Toronto and Halifax are currently underserved, and this expansion aligns with our mission to provide year-round service, meeting the needs of both Bermudians and travelers from Canada.”
