Rosewood Is Bringing a New Luxury Hotel to Seoul in 2027
by Daniel McCarthy /Rosewood Hotels & Resorts will open a new hotel in Seoul in 2027, the first-ever Rosewood property in South Korea.
The new hotel will occupy space within The Parkside Seoul, a mixed-use neighborhood that also includes some high-end retail and residences connected by outdoor space. The neighborhood is located along Noksapyeong-daero, one of Seoul’s main thoroughfares, and serves as a connector to the city’s traditional business district to the north and the modern Gangman area to the south.
The building, which will blend into Seoul’s modern skyline, will also neighbor Yongsan Park, Seoull’s equivalent to New York’s Central Pak and London’s Hyde Park.
The hotel is being designed by American architecture firm, Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, which has worked with Rosewood at a number of other projects in Asia including Rosewood Hong Kong, Rosewood Bangkok, and Rosewood Guangzhou.
Rosewood is planning to open 250 hotel rooms and suites, among the largest in the city, along with seven restaurants and bars and Asaya, Rosewood’s signature comprehensive wellness concept that spans over 4,800 sq. ft.
The company said the goal is to make Rosewood Seoul a destination not just for travelers but for locals, too.
“Seoul is one of Asia’s most dynamic metropolises known for its innovation while simultaneously honoring its distinctive history and heritage,” says Sonia Cheng, Chief Executive Officer of Rosewood Hotel Group. “We look forward to exploring this destination through the Rosewood lens and are thrilled to be working with our partners at Eleven D&C Co. to create an elevated lifestyle experience that will bring attention to Seoul amongst a new generation of ultra-luxury travelers.”
