Following Hawaii’s recent announcement of a pre-arrival testing program for those traveling from out-of-state, Disney announced it's working toward a phased reopening of Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa beginning on Sunday, Nov. 1.

The gradual, phased approach to reopening considers the guidance of local and national government and health authorities, including the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as well as the U.S. Travel Association and Disney’s team of health and safety experts.

Specifics for the reopening plan have not yet been revealed, but Disney said “this deliberate approach allows us to evaluate and adjust along the way, as circumstances and the recommendations of health authorities evolve.”

Hawaii Governor David Ige said that the state will begin its pre-travel COVID-19 testing program on Oct. 15. Travelers who, upon entry into the state, provide written confirmation from a state approved COVID-19 testing facility of a negative test result from a test administered to the traveler within 72 hours from the final leg of departure, will be exempt from the mandatory quarantine.
