New Opening: St. Regis Kanai Resort, Riviera Maya
by Daniel McCarthy /St. Regis this week celebrated the opening of its newest property, the St. Regis Kanai Resort in Riviera Maya.
The hotel features 124 guestrooms and 19 suites, the highlight of which is a 2,300 sq. ft. Presidential Suite. Each of the suites includes ocean views and a private terrace or plunge pool, while the guestrooms all feature hanging mirrors, bedside tables, ceramic light pendants, and intricate walnut wood-carved headboards.
All guests at the hotel have access to the St. Regis Signature Butler Service.
For food and drink, guests will have access to eight different on-site restaurants including the property’s signature restaurant TORO by Chef Richard Sandoval, which serves a Latin-inspired menu; Chaya, which combines local ingredients with Eastern Mediterranean elements; Riviera, which blends the South of France with the Mayan Riviera; and The Library, a teach a chocolate saloon.
There are also plans to debut with a fitness center and separate The St. Regis Spa on-site, which includes eight different treatment suites and a standalone saloon. The spa’s menu includes the Secret Garden ritual, allowing guests to hand-select ingredients from the hotel’s garden to personalize a body scrub and mask, as well as a Celestial Energy treatment that is inspired by Mayan cosmology.
The hotel also includes over 50,000 sq. ft. of indoor and outdoor event space spread across six venues—the largest of which is the 7,300 sq. ft. Great Lawn that can accommodate up to 600 guests.
