Avianca is soaring further into the premium market. Starting this September, the Latin American carrier will roll out business class service on more than 40 additional international routes, bringing its upgraded experience to more than 80 routes across the Americas operated by Airbus A320 aircraft.

The expansion was announced ahead of the IATA Wings of Change Americas conference in Bogotá, where Avianca CEO Frederico Pedreira emphasized the carrier’s commitment to offering flexible, tailored products for a growing range of travelers. “This is a clear reflection of our commitment to listening to our customers,” he said, noting the airline’s rapid product expansion since its reintroduction a year ago. “The response from our passengers was immediate.”

The Business Class Americas product includes reclining premium seats in the aircraft’s first three rows, with extra legroom, charging ports, and access to Avianca’s On Air streaming entertainment system via personal devices. Travelers also receive two checked bags, free changes and refunds, priority boarding and baggage handling, Avianca Lounge access, and 10 LifeMiles per dollar spent.

Newly upgraded routes will depart from Avianca hubs in Bogotá, Medellín, and San Salvador, with new nonstop service to major business and leisure destinations including Dallas/Fort Worth, Toronto, Las Vegas, Cusco, and Punta Cana. Seasonal holiday launches are also on the way, including new December routes from San Salvador to Montreal and Chicago, and from Medellín to Orlando.

The move is part of Avianca’s broader evolution into a hybrid airline model, offering both low-cost and full-service options. According to the airline, over 500,000 travelers have flown in the enhanced cabin since the Business Class reintroduction last year.
