With more than 5 million travelers expected to descend upon the Amalfi Coast this summer, Uber is elevating its Italian offerings with two luxe new services: Uber Copter and Uber Boat. Launching just in time for peak season, these additions will give high-end travelers seamless, app-based access to private charters by land, sea, and air.
Starting June 25, travelers can book helicopter transfers to Capri or glamorous cruises along the coast—all directly within the Uber app. The new experiences, available every weekend from July 26 through August 24, are designed to offer exclusive access to one of Italy’s most beloved (and often congested) destinations.
Uber Copter enables guests to pre-book round-trip transfers between Sorrento and Capri aboard a dual-engine, dual-pilot helicopter. The service includes door-to-helipad transport from anywhere on the Amalfi Coast, catering to groups of up to six. The experience, priced at 250 euros per person, offers a rarefied, time-saving escape to Capri’s fabled shores.

Meanwhile, Uber Boat introduces private four-hour charters along the coastline aboard a Gozzo 35, the elegant Italian dayboat synonymous with the region. Departing from Sorrento Marina, each cruise accommodates up to 12 guests and includes a personal skipper, complimentary drinks, and snacks.
Also rolling out this season is Uber Reserve, allowing travelers to pre-schedule premium car rides along the coast—a timely addition as Salerno Airport opens to international flights and traffic volumes swell.
“Italy is fast becoming one of our most popular tourist destinations,” said Anabel Diaz, Uber’s vice president of mobility for EMEA. “This summer, we’re adding a series of unforgettable experiences that make traveling by land, sea, or air more magical than ever before.”
Uber’s move reflects growing demand for elevated, tech-enabled transport in Italy’s tourism hotspots. In summer 2024, more than 400,000 international travelers used Uber in Italy, with 60,000 opening the app on the Amalfi Coast alone. Demand for Uber’s services in Rome, Lake Como, and the Amalfi Coast spiked by up to 25% year-over-year.
With availability limited and weather-dependent, advisors are encouraged to book well in advance for clients seeking an effortlessly chic way to navigate southern Italy’s most glamorous coastline.
