Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) announced its 2019 Hall of Fame Inductee Class on Thursday during a ceremony at its Cruise 360 Conference in Ft. Lauderdale.

The annual inductee class honors individuals and organizations who have contributed significantly to the success of the cruise industry. This year’s class was the first to be inducted by CLIA’s new president and CEO Kelly Craighead.

“The Hall of Fame winners have proven themselves as some of the most forward-thinking thought leaders in the cruise industry and every nominee is a great reflection on the industry as a whole,” Craighead said.

This year’s Lifetime Achievement Award Winner was awarded to Celebrity Cruises president and CEO Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, the first and only female CEO of a publicly traded cruise line on the New York Stock Exchange. During her 32-career with Royal Caribbean Cruises, Lutoff-Perlo worked her way up through the cruise combay, spending time in marketing and sales before being appointed as Preisdent and CEO in 2014.

The Travel Agency Innovator Award Winner was awarded to Avoya Travel. Avoya, a family-owned company, is one of the largest sellers of cruises and tours in the world and is a CLIA Premier Travel Agency.

Lucinda Beldon of Stingray Travel was honored as the Elite Cruise Counsellor of the Year, given to one CLIA member who “has demonstrated their career commitment to professional development through achievement of Elite Cruise Counsellor or Elite Cruise Counsellor Scholar status” and “significantly impacted the travel agent landscape through contributions to their agency.”

Beldon, a brand ambassador for Dream Vacations, was honored not only for her career as an advisor, but also for mentoring advisors, including those in third-world countries through her involvement with Adventure Angels, a non-profit organization.

All honorees were nominated by their peers in the cruise industry and were then selected by representatives from the CLIA Strategic Trade Advisory and Review Board (STARBoard) and Trade Relations Committee.
