Carnival Names Chief Operations Officer for Asia

Carnival Corp. has appointed Michael Ungerer as the company’s chief operations officer-share services for Carnival Asia. Ungerer will start his new role on Sept. 1. Ungerer has spent the last 18 years in the cruise industry, most recently serving as president of AIDA cruises. He will report to Michael Thamm, the CEO of Costa, and to a China steering committee made up of Carnival brands in Asia. The move is part of the cruise company’s growth strategy in the region.
