Cunard has partnered with The Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation to help build a new museum on Liberty Island.

The museum is currently scheduled to reopen next year.

Donations are open starting July 4th. Cunard is rewarding the first $10,000 donte with a Transatlantic crossing for two on the Queen Mary 2 and the first person to donate $5,000 with a trip to New York and a private tour and lunch for two on the Queen Mary 2 while the ship is docked.

The first 100 people to donate $18.86, in honor of the year The Statue of Liberty was donated, will receive a branded Cunard Desktop Notepad engraved with the iconic Cunard crest.

The partnership is a natural fit for Cunard, a cruise line that traces its history back through the late 1800s when one of five immigrants coming through Ellis Island did so on a Cunard liner. Cunard’s Queen Mary 2’s crossings on the Atlantic sail by the Statue of Liberty before docking in New York Harbor.

"One of the highlights of Cunard's iconic Transatlantic Crossings is sailing past the Statue of Liberty, and we are thrilled to be a crowdfunding partner, supporting the new development for this icon of freedom," said Josh Leibowitz, senior vice president, Cunard North America.
