Disney and Universal Studios have announced closures are expanding beyond theme parks to include hotels and retail stores.
Disney Springs in Florida and Downtown Disney in California will be closing Disney owned and operated shops and restaurants, beginning Tuesday, March 17, through the end of the month.
Disney is temporarily closing its resort hotels at Walt Disney World Resort, including all Disney Vacation Club properties and Disney's Vero Beach Resort will close at 5 pm on Friday, March 20, through the end of the month. Disneyland Resort hotels will close March 16 through the end of the month. At this time, Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa, and Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort will remain open.
Select Disney hotel rooms and packages may be canceled online via a new tool for travel advisors.
Both of Disney's U.S. parks are closed through March 31.
Universal Orlando Resort will close Universal CityWalk at Universal Orlando at midnight tonight, March 16, and will close all hotels at at 5 p.m. on Friday, March 20. Universal Orlando Resort said it anticipates these closures to extend through March 31.
Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort are temporarily closing until March 28 and March 31, respectively.
