GBTA Warns Govt. Shutdown Will Have Severe Impact
The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) warned that the government shutdown will severely impact the business travel industry. U.S. business travel spending is expected to reach more than $273 billion this year, surpassing pre-recession levels, according to Michael W. McCormick, GBTA’s executive director and COO. “America’s economy can’t grow without a reliable system supporting business travel,” said McCormick. “Unfortunately, like the sequestration earlier this year, this standoff is using business travel as a bargaining chip.”
