Holland America Line on Friday announced that it was giving its travel partners an extra 2% in commission on all new bookings for some 2021 sailings.
Holland America will give advisors making a booking between now and Sept. 30, 2020 on 2021 itineraries in Europe, Alaska (both cruise and land and sea journeys), and Canada/New England an extra 2% on top of regular commission.
“Cruise interest is still very strong, but this is a challenging time for travel and selling cruises can take additional effort,” Holland America said in a statement announcing the news. “We want to reward and acknowledge that extra hard work and the strong relationships between our travel advisors and their clients.”
Right now, Holland America’s operations remains paused just like the rest of the cruise industry and its Alaska, Europe, and Canada/New England sailings won’t restart until 2021.
The cruise line also recently announced that four ships will be leaving the fleet by the end of the year after being sold to undisclosed buyers. The news means that Holland America will be left with a fleet of 10 ships until Ryndam, its newest Pinnacle class ship, joins the fleet in May 2021.
