Carnival Cruise Line has officially welcomed its newest ship, Carnival Panorama, into its fleet.

During a naming ceremony onboard Panorama in Long Beach, California, this week, godmother Vanna White, the 37-year co-host of Wheel of Fortune, and Carnival Cruise line executives gathered to welcome the first new ship on the West Coast for Carnival in the last 20 years.

“I’m incredibly flattered and honored to be the godmother of this ship,” said White. “Naming Carnival Panorama was truly a special moment, and one I will never forget. I look forward to sailing on her in the future.”

White and Carnival’s Christine Duffy were also joined by a slate of culinary celebrities — Guy Fieri, Emeril Lagasse, and Rudi Sodamin — all of whom have restaurants coming, or already on, Carnival ships (Fieri has his Burger Joint and Smokehouse Brewhouse on Panorama, while Lagasse has Bistro 1396, and Sodamin has Seagrill coming to Mardi Gras when it debuts next year.

Duffy, along with Jeff Platt, the CEO Of Sky Zone, also cut the ribbon for an entire Sky Zone trampoline park at sea, the cruise line’s first and a first for the industry.

The ship will sport many of the features of its sister ships, Carnival Vista and Carnival Horizon, including the Fahrenheit 555 steakhouse, Library Bar, Bonsai Sushi, SkyRide, Waterworks aqua park, and the SportSquare recreation area.

Panorama will now sail year-round from Long Beach. It will sail a season of seven-day Mexican Riviera itineraries departing every Saturday.
