Playa and Marriott Open Paraiso de la Bonita, a Luxury Collection Resort

Paraiso de la Bonita is just the third all-inclusive in Marriott’s The Luxury Collection.

Playa Hotels & Resorts and Marriott International have announced the grand opening of Paraiso de la Bonita, a Luxury Collection Resort.

The result of the reflagging and renovation of Zoetry Paraiso de la Bonita Riviera Maya in Puerto Morelos, the resort is set on 5.7 hectares (14 acres), and offers 100 guestrooms and four restaurants, including a culinary venue with a 5,000-bottle wine cellar.

This boutique, adult-only all-inclusive marks a significant milestone in the collaboration between Playa Hotels & Resorts and Marriott International. It also becomes just the third luxury all-inclusive resort for The Luxury Collection and Marriott International, joining Sanctuary Cap Cana in the Dominican Republic and Almare on Mexico’s Isla Mujeres.

All three participate in Marriott Bonvoy, the popular travel program that offers exclusive member rates, access to unique experiences, and the ability to earn and redeem points.

“We are thrilled to welcome Canadian travellers to the newly opened Paraiso de la Bonita, a Luxury Collection All-Inclusive Resort, Riviera Maya,” said Rose Cosentino, VP Global Wholesale & Retail Sales Playa Hotels & Resorts.

“This iconic oceanfront retreat has been not only reimagined but now offers Playa’s signature ‘Service From the Heart’ alongside the exceptional quality and prestige of Marriott’s The Luxury Collection.”

Just 20 minutes from Cancun International Airport and perched between a mangrove reserve and the Caribbean Sea, Paraiso de la Bonita invites guests to indulge in an adults-only haven.  After a multimillion-dollar renovation, it features 100 oceanfront suites, each adorned with handcrafted furnishings, private terraces or balconies, and ocean views.

Paraiso de la Bonita boasts a selection of dining venues including the K’uhul Mexican restaurant, Joya with a Latin American proposal, Côté à Costa with a Mediterranean cuisine, and Qin Qin combining traditional Chinese techniques with modern innovations. The onsite bars Buena Onda, Mi Lugar, and Bonita offer creative cocktail craftmanship and relaxing lounge areas.

At the resort’s 22,000-square-foot Thalasso Spa Center, guests can indulge in a range of holistic treatments and therapies, inspired by ancient traditions and modern wellness practices. The facilities include 9 treatment rooms, a seawater hydrotherapy pool, sauna, and steam room.

From private yacht excursions and scuba diving adventures to personalized destination discoveries and epicurean moments, the resort offers a myriad of activities designed to inspire and delight in the sense of the locale.

“With exquisitely renovated suites, world-class gourmet dining, and the only Thalassotherapy spa in North America, every aspect of the resort has been thoughtfully designed to deliver an unparalleled luxury experience,” Cosentino told Travel Market Report Canada. “As we open our doors to guests, we invite our Canadian visitors to immerse themselves in the resort’s refined beauty, warm hospitality, and authentic Riviera Maya charm.”
