The carrier will resume service between San Francisco and Shanghai beginning July 8.
After the European Union confirmed its temporary ban on American citizens, trips to the French Riviera or Italian countryside are off the table for the moment.
Citizens from the United States will continue to be banned from entering EU countries because of COVID-19 infection rates. Citizens from Canada, New Zealand, Australia, South Korea, and more, will be allowed to enter and travel freely within Europe.
The destination reopens to international travel July 1.
The test results will be made available within hours and will help healthy Lufthansa customers avoid quarantining when they arrive in Germany or Austria.
Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Hawaiian Airlines, JetBlue Airways, Southwest Airlines, and United Airlines will require passengers to complete a health acknowledgment during the check-in process.
