The legendary Hotel del Coronado has completed the final phase of its $550 million restoration, fully revitalizing its landmark Victorian building. The transformation, the culmination of a multi-year plan led by Blackstone Real Estate, preserves the historic character of the National Historic Landmark while reimagining it for modern luxury travelers.

The restored Victorian Neighborhood includes a refreshed front porch, lobby, garden courtyard, guest rooms, and the hotel’s renowned event spaces like the Crown Room. It also debuts two new dining venues: Nobu Del Coronado and Veranda. Both additions offer elevated culinary experiences with views of the Pacific—Nobu delivers Chef Nobu Matsuhisa’s signature fusion cuisine, and Veranda channels the historic charm of the hotel’s original wraparound veranda.

Each Victorian guestroom has been uniquely reimagined, drawing on the building’s 19th-century heritage with thoughtful updates. Design details include floral wallcoverings, wicker and deep-toned wood furnishings, Chinoiserie-inspired lighting, and checkerboard marble floors. No two rooms are alike, with layouts and decorative elements that reflect the building’s historic quirks.

The central garden courtyard has also been meticulously restored, with historical walkways, pergolas, and the return of the Naiad Queen Fountain, recast from an original mold. Victorian-era plantings such as bromeliads, cycads, and citrus trees enrich the space.

Dining is a highlight of the restoration. Nobu Del Coronado has an oceanfront seating, an eight-seat sushi bar, and dishes exclusive to the property, while Veranda emphasizes locally sourced ingredients with California-inspired updates on American classics.

The project also revitalized the broader resort, including the debut of Shore House, the Southpointe event center, Beach Village renovations, an upgraded spa and salon, a new Ice House Museum, and additional dining and retail spaces. In total, the restoration generated thousands of construction jobs and added more than 300 new resort roles.

Hotel del Coronado is part of the Curio Collection by Hilton and home to LXR Hotels & Resorts.
