In a city that is home to myriad excellent hotels, it takes a unique, flawlessly-run destination to stand out. Enter The Langham Boston. The elegant, five-star hotel is housed in a building that was originally built in 1922 as The Federal Reserve Bank of Boston and then converted to a hotel in 1981. The building has been well-preserved, appearing nearly as it did in its banking days, and is now a historic landmark protected by the Boston Landmarks Commission.

Overview

The Langham is centrally located within Boston at 250 Franklin Street, ideal for both leisure and business travel. Well-connected hotel concierges readily offer suggestions and reservations for tours, dining, and entertainment. Historic sites such as Back Bay, Faneuil Hall Marketplace, Boston Harbor, and Old North Church are a mere stroll away.

The hotel itself is home to 312 gorgeous rooms and suites, two restaurants, and elegant wellness facilities. Guests can relax in the cozy lounge while enjoying pieces from the iconic, 268-piece art collection sprinkled throughout the hotel, which pays homage to both local heritage and the building’s past life as a bank.

Luxurious rooms

All rooms at the Langham are luxuriously furnished, with a simple elegance that pairs well with Boston. Guests enjoy Italian marble bathrooms, soothing color schemes, and sumptuous linens. With rooms for singles or couples (Superior, Deluxe, and Premier Rooms) as well as well-planned family rooms (both single and bi-level), The Langham accommodates all manner of travelers. Perhaps the brightest jewels in this Boston crown, however, are the suites.

Headlining is the 15,865 square foot Chairman Suite, outfitted sumptuously with a fireplace, piano, and full walk-in closet. For those keen on a unique view, the ADA-accessible Vault Suite overlooks scenic Oliver Street and features an open parlor area and window-laden master bedroom. Other suite offerings, including Executive, Bi-Level, and Two-Bedroom Suites, do not disappoint; all feature the hotel’s attention to detail and elegant furnishings.

The Langham Club

For those seeking a unique luxury experience, The Langham Club is designed as a curated offering of premium privileges and services designed to make a stay even more memorable—and effortless. Located on the eighth floor of the hotel, The Langham Club offers snacks and exquisitely crafted treats at all hours of the day. Breakfast offerings feature an omelet station, hot dishes, pastries, and fruit salads, followed by midday snacks (which could readily be a meal for those so inclined, including a selection of tea sandwiches and snacks). Midafternoon service brings light bites, petit fours, and other sweet treats, and the evening offers a light dinner via a self-serve bar. For those looking for a respite

from busy restaurants—or just some quiet time—The Langham Club’s culinary offerings and premium bar service will delight.

Guests staying in Park View Club Rooms, Executive Club Rooms, or Suites to enjoy all-day service at The Langham Club. Guests staying in other rooms may purchase club access at a rate of $180 (plus tax) per adult ages 17+ per day and $75 per child ages 5-16 per day (children under 5 are complimentary).

Elegant dining options

Those looking to be more social with their dining can enjoy two offerings at The Langham: Grana, an authentic Italian offering set in the former Federal Reserve Bank’s grand hall. Opulent surroundings nicely compliment the fresh, family-style Italian dishes, and Grana also puts on an absolutely stellar breakfast service (plus brunch on the weekends, which is popular with locals).

The Fed, a cozy cocktail bar located in the lobby, quickly transports guests to a British Pub with a local New England twist. Enticing cocktails, elevated pub fare, and an intimate atmosphere truly shine during the cozy holiday and cold-weather seasons.

Wellness in the city

While fitness-minded travelers can get a walk or run on the city’s streets, the wellness facilities at the Langham are worth a visit as well. A gorgeous 40-foot heated indoor pool and hot tub rest within a relaxing, sunlit atrium space while relaxing saunas welcome tired souls after a long travel days.

For those looking to shed some sweat, the hotel features one of the best-outfitted hotel gyms in the city. Technogym cardio equipment, Peloton exercise bikes, and state-of-the-art strength equipment are spread throughout the spacious fitness space, along with thoughtful amenities such as bottled water and towel service
