Accor has announced plans to open a Raffles Hotels & Resorts in Mexico. It will mark the luxury brand’s first resort in North America and second property overall on the continent.
Raffles Estera East Cape Resort & Residences, slated to open in 2029, will be in the East Cape community of Los Cabos, part of Baja California Sur, about an hour drive from the Los Cabos International Airport.
The announcement comes as Accor strategically charts its luxury resort growth in North America and after Raffles opened its first North American property, Raffles Boston, in 2023.
Located between the Sea of Cortez and the Sierra de la Laguna mountains, the resort will offer access to serene views and calm waters for water sports and marine life watching in this UNESCO World Heritage Site recognized for its vast biodiversity and natural ecosystem.
“East Cape, with its striking beauty, rich culture, and tradition of warm hospitality, offers the perfect setting to bring our vision to life,” said Omer Acar, CEO of Raffles Hotels & Resorts. “This resort will be more than a new destination, it will be a bold expression of our brand’s commitment to remarkable design, sustainable practices, and the art of exceptional guest experiences.”
The 80-room resort will feature an expansive spa, kids and teens clubs, multiple outdoor pools, a beachfront water sports center, and seven food and beverage concepts. It will also offer 46 branded residences.
