Six Senses has signed a hotel management deal to open Six Senses Bangkok in the city’s new mixed-use development of Hatai.

In agreement with Narai Hospitality Group, the luxury IHG Hotels & Resorts brand will transform the landmark Narai Hotel into a Six Senses by 2028. Narai Hotel originally opened in 1968 and was a pioneer in shaping the historic Silom district’s skyline over the past five decades. The new Six Senses will help usher in a new chapter for the property, as Hatai is poised to become the new “lantern quarter.”

“It’s a privilege to honor the legacy of Narai Hotel in such a culturally significant and storied location,” said Neil Palmer, COO of Six Senses. “Together with Narai Hospitality Group, we’re creating something truly special, a place that respects its history while embracing signature wellness, crafted experiences, and sustainable design and operations, all defining characteristics of the Six Senses core ethos.”

Six Senses Bangkok will feature about 100 spacious rooms, a top-level suite and signature restaurant, a main restaurant, and the signature Six Senses Spa. A sky lobby will connect to a sky garden, incorporating biophilic design and repurposed wooden materials from the original hotel.

The new hotel is part of a larger growth plan for both IHG in Thailand and the Six Senses brand globally. IHG has 40 existing hotels and 38 in the pipeline, spanning 11 destinations and nine brands, in Thailand. For Six Senses, the Bangkok property joins other pipeline announcements in London, Milan, Lisbon, Dubai, and Tel Aviv. Most recently, the brand opened Six Senses Rome and Six Senses Kyoto.
