Travel advisors with clients looking for immersive in-destination experiences can now offer them "Stay for Good" options at Banyan Tree resorts in destinations like Bali, Japan, Mexico, and Malaysia.

"We believe that travel should be about more than just a vacation," said Adhiyanto Goen, head of communications for Banyan Tree Group. "It should be an opportunity to explore new perspectives, gain fresh inspiration, and immerse oneself in the culture and heritage of the places we visit."

The Stay for Good program, he added is inspired by the concept of regenerative tourism, and gives participants an opportunity to connect with the local culture. For instance, in Bali guests can visit with a local farmer on a tour of his land, foraging for fruits and edible plants native to Bali. Guests will get to taste raw coffee cherries and Cemcem leaves and try raw honey from stingless bees.

At Banyan Tree Pueblo in Mexico, guests can learn about agroecology and sustainable construction methods or purchase natural products from an on-site farm in the nearby rural village of San Jeronimo Tecuanipan. Guests can also take a guided tour of earthenware workshop for an immersive experience into this part of Puebla's identity and heritage.

"We believe that through travel and tourism, there is a potential to make a positive impact on the communities we visit and the environment we operate in," Goen added.

The Stay for Good program will be progressively rolled out to all Banyan Tree Group properties worldwide.
