The South Beach Hotel in Christ Church, Barbados will soon be undergoing a substantial renovation along with a possible rebranding, including a new name, said Jacqui McDermott, sales and marketing manager for Ocean Hotels Group Barbados.

South Beach Hotel is already open and operating as a very popular four-star hotel on the south coast of Barbados, a great second option for those looking to pay less than nearby O2 Beach Club in Spa.

McDermott didn't fully confirm but alluded to the fact that South Beach Hotel will be going through some enhancements with a new name coming in the fall.

“Unfortunately, we aren’t ready to disclose much more than that right now as we are working through updating our internal stakeholders first before launching the full scope of the project to the outside world," she said, "so when you ask 'when it is opening' I hope that this explains it a little better.”

So, who will the rebranded hotel be best for?

“It's going to be ideal for the traveler with an adventurous mindset,” said McDermott. “[It is ideal for] those travelers that love to discover what's fabulous about the island, but return to somewhere comfortable after a fun day exploring,” she said. “The location is excellent as it is great for exploring whether by foot, by bus, or by taxi or hire car. That's what is very special."

McDermott also said there will be an effort to encourage mingling among the guests,

“[Guests at this resort will] like to hang out at the bar that visitors frequent, welcome stampers and locals alike,” she said., “so they get the local vibe.  Service is genuine and heartfelt and they will feel like a second home that they can't wait to return to.”
