First announced as a concept back in 2021, a superyacht being built by Neptune Co., is one step closer to reality. The company, a joint venture between Aman Group and Cruise Sauid, signed a newbuild deal with T. Mariotti, according to Seatrade Cruise News.
The superyacht, so far referred to only as Project Sama (tranquility in Sanskrit), will be 600 feet in length and feature 50 suites. It was designed by SINOT Yacht Architecture & Design and is scheduled to enter service in 2026.
According to Aman, "Project Sama will offer a pioneering superyacht travel experience with Aman's core values of privacy, peace, generosity of space and unparalleled service at its heart."
Aman Group, which operates 34 Aman resorts, hotels and residences in 20 countries, is the fifth land-based hospitality company to expand into yacht cruising. The Ritz-Carlton Collection launched last year with Evrima, while Riverside Luxury Cruises (owned by the Seaside Collection) launches its river cruise line this spring. The Four Seasons launches its yacht product in 2025 and Accor's Orient Express launches its first yacht in 2026.
