Tourism Cares Offers 2018 South Florida Community Service Trip
by Richard D'Ambrosio /The headline news coverage is over, but South Florida is still recovering from the early fall hurricanes, and Tourism Cares is organizing 2018 projects in the region to help.
The organization just announced a May 10-11 trip that will include education sessions and tours on the 10th, and a full day of work projects on the 11th, with the ability to add volunteer activities in the Florida Keys. Tourism Cares is still working with visitor bureaus, local partners and national parks to identify projects. Accommodations will be available for booking in early 2018.
A second project open for registration is to New Orleans, Sept 20-21. Thirteen years after Hurricane Katrina devastated the city, portions of New Orleans still require assistance. Accommodations are being hosted at the New Orleans Marriott ($139/night). Work projects will be available on Friday, Sept. 21, and weekend activities may be available as well.
