Rocky Mountaineer Names New CEO
by Sarah Milner /Vancouver, Canada-based Rocky Mountaineer has named its second-generation CEO.
Effective immediately, Tristan Armstrong, the son of founder Peter Armstrong, will lead the luxury train operator’s executive team.
Tristan has been acting as interim CEO since David McKeena exited the company in December 2023. The search is ongoing for a president/COO to work alongside the CEO and handle day-to-day operations.
Rocky Mountaineer is a family-owned business that has been operating since 1990. Tristan has served on the Board of Directors since 2016 and previously held numerous roles in the company’s operations and guest experience teams.
"To become the CEO and build on this family legacy is truly an honour and a privilege," said Tristan in a release. "I look forward to being even more involved in connecting with our partners, nurturing a strong internal culture, and delivering an exceptional service for our guests."
Tristan is also the president and CEO of the Armstrong family’s investment holding company Major Rock Corporation (formerly Armstrong Group), having succeeded his father in January 2023.
