The American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) recently welcomed key leaders from China's Guizhou Province in advance of the ASTA China Summit being held this November in Guiyang, China.
Bob Duglin, ASTA VP of business development, joined Guizhou leaders at the United Nations headquarters in New York City to sign an official Memorandum of Understanding that formalizes ASTA’s support for developing tourism.
Key leaders included Lu Yongzheng, vice governor of Guizhou Provincial People's Government; Zhang Jibing, deputy secretary-general of Guizhou Provincial People's Government; Li Sanqi, director-general of Guizhou Tourism Development Commission; and Yu Ling, chairman of the board of Guizhou Tourism Investment Holding Co., Ltd.
The ASTA China Summit is scheduled for November 8-12, 2017. ASTA is hoping to immerse agents and others in regional tourism experiences to expand agent knowledge and develop lasting relationships for tourism growth, said Zane Kerby, president and CEO of ASTA.
"China and the U.S have the two largest tourism economies in the world, and we are excited to work with our Guizhou partners to build on this strength while helping our members expand their businesses and destination expertise," Kerby said.
