American Cruise Lines Names New Modern Riverboat
by Daniel McCarthy /
The fourth riverboat from American Cruise Lines (ACL) will be named American Melody, ACL announced this week.
American Melody will feature the opening bow and retractable gangway with which the cruise line’s other ships also debuted. It will also boast multi-story glass atriums and staterooms with private furnished balconies, sailing between 100 and 200 passengers.
The ship is expected to begin sailing in late 2020. It will be the fourth of five in American’s series of modern riverboats, joining American Song, American Harmony, American Jazz, and another yet-to-be-named ship. It will also be the line’s 13th ship overall.
American Harmony recently arrived in New Orleans ahead of its Aug. 17 debut on the Mississippi River. That ship will sail cruises ranging from seven- to 21-nights long.
