Carnival Corp.’s Donald Signs New Contract
by Daniel McCarthy /
Carnival Corp. has extended the contract of chief executive officer Arnold Donald to Oct. 14, 2017, one year after his agreement was set to expire.
Donald signed on with Carnival in 2013, replacing Micky Arison. Since then, Carnival’s market cap has increased from about $25 billion to $37 billion.
The cruise giant, which includes the Holland America Line, Princess Cruises and Carnival Cruise Line brands, has hit major milestones since Donald came aboard, including the company’s first expansion into China, scheduled for next year. And its social-impact brand Fathom was the first to sail from the United States to Cuba earlier this year.
