From JetBlue to Regent Cruises, Unlimited Free WiFi Rolls Out
Kiss the days of logging off when you’re on vacation goodbye. In the air and on the seas, free WiFi brings the Internet along.
JetBlue today announced plans to be the first carrier in the country to offer free in-flight WiFi on every plane by next Fall. While the company is officially offering the service for free during a “beta period,” a spokesman told betaBoston that the plan is to continue to offer it free permanently.
JetBlue’s announcement comes two weeks after Virgin America began offering free in-flight internet to Netflix subscribers.
On the high seas, meanwhile, Regent Seven Seas Cruises will offer free, unlimited WiFi aboard all ships Starting in winter 2016, it said today. Previously, only guests in named suites and concierge suites and higher received free WiFi. The new policy will be rolled out across the four Regent ships by December, 2016.
Regent follows Carnival, which last month said it will make its WiFi@Sea network available free on all ships in 2016.
