The International Association of Destination Wedding Planners (IADWP) will add a Guatemala event in 2018, the year it celebrates ten years of conferences in Mexico.
Run by Kitzia Morales Torres, Minty Castilla and Ed Cotton, IADWP, formerly known as MeWed, has held an annual Mexico conference that has elevated the romance travel and destination wedding industry, offering an array of services to help travel agents and others engaged in this niche to improve their sales, marketing and service offerings.
“Love Guatemala.” Aug. 14-17, 2018, will be a first for the group, though it did host a scaled down version of their program in Guatemala this past October. Love Guatemala 2018 will include a broader set of speakers and information, as well as pre and post programs highlighting the diversity of the country.
In early December, 450 agents and industry executives attended this year’s Love Mexico event in Los Cabos, IADWP’s ninth edition of the iconic event. According to Cotton, 147 attendees registered and pre-paid for its Love Mexico Riviera Maya 2018 conference, to be hosted at the Hotel Xcaret Mexico, Dec. 2-5.
Prior to LoveMexico this year, IADWP hosted a 2-day workshop helping attendees evaluate their website, social media and other branding strategies.
