National Airlines will start flying out of Islip, NY, a month earlier than expected because of high customer demand.
It will now offer direct service between Long Island MacArthur Airport and two Puerto Rican airports—Rafael Hernandez Airport in Aguadilla and Luis Munoz Marin International Airport in San Juan—starting June 1.
National Airlines announced that it would join Southwest and American Eagle at MacArthur in February; president and COO Edward Davidson at the time cited high demand for Puerto Rico service, though its proximity to Cuba may also be a draw.
Flights are on sale now through the National Airlines travel agent portal.
