Obit: Tania Philip, Senior Vice President At WEILL
by Daniel McCarthy /Tania Philip, senior vice president at travel public relations and marketing firm WEILL, has passed away after a two-and-a-half year battle with amyloidosis. She was 52.
Philip joined Weill in 2000 and worked there for 16 years. She was involved in a number of media successes, including convincing Sports Illustrated to shoot its annual swimsuit issue at CC Africa’s Kichwa Tembo in Kenya. She also traveled with world with journalists, including visits to Peru, Canada, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Singapore, and Indonesia.
Before she got her start in travel, Philip was a professional dancer, performing with the New York City Opera Ballet, the Hamburg Ballet in Germany, and a Broadway production of The Phantom of the Opera.
“We mourn her. We embrace Michael and Chloe. And we will always cherish her memory,” WEILL said in a statement.
Philip leaves behind her husband, Michael Siberry; her 8-year-old daughter Chloe, her farther; her sister, Katrina; and her friends.
