Port Aransas, Texas, Doubles Accommodations
by Kelly Harold /Next year, Port Aransas, TX, will begin a $1.3 billion, 300-acre expansion that will double the island’s number of accommodations to 8,000.
Cinnamon Shore will get new two- to five-bedroom vacation homes, a town center, a health and wellness center, a 3,300-foot beachfront and a 10-acre lake surrounded by a mile-long boardwalk. The new development will be bounded by swimming pools and lakes that guests can cross using a golf-cart bridge, reducing the number of cars and creating an eco-friendly community.
As the sport-fishing capital of Texas, Port Aransas offers national and state seashore parks, beachfront vacation homes and resorts, dining and nightlife options, golf and festivals.
