by Marilee Crocker /Ya'lla Tours USA is getting an early jump on the market for travel to Dubai’s Expo 2020. Ya’lla has blocked more than 400 rooms per day for the duration of the six-month event, becoming the first company in the world to do so, owner and president Ronen Paldi told attendees at Ensemble’s annual conference in Nassau, the Bahamas, this week.
Paldi told Travel Market Report that Ya’lla has blocked space in seven hotels, all within walking distance of Dubai’s Metro. The firm plans to offer three-, five- and seven-night land packages, including unlimited entries to the Expo, unlimited tickets on the Metro and airport transfers. Packages will go on sale in the first quarter of 2019.
Expo 2020, whose theme is "Connecting Minds, Creating the Future," will run from Oct. 20, 2020 to April 10, 2021. More than 170 countries have signed up to showcase their achievements, aspirations and cultures at the expo, which will feature more than 60 live shows daily and more than 200 food and beverage outlets. Expo 2020, the first event of its kind in the Middle East, Africa or South Asia, is expected to attract 25 million visitors, according to the Bureau International des Expositions.
