ASTA Puts Together Toolkit for National Travel Advisor Day
by Jessica Montevago /
The American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) had put together a variety of resources in honor of National Travel Advisor Day.
The first is a “Letter to the Editor” template that is fully customizable. It allows advisors to remind their local newspaper or network the value of booking with a travel advisor, now more than ever, and the impact the coronavirus had on the industry. Through the advocacy portal, advisors simply enter their name, address, and zip code in the template, and add a personal story if they wish, such as how they have recently helped a client navigate their next vacation.
ASTA is also inviting advisors to be an advocate and gather cosponsors for the SAVE Act through the advocacy portal to engage with their Members of Congress. The Securing Access for Venue Equity (SAVE) Act would make travel agencies eligible for the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant program. Under this program, applicants can qualify for grants equal to 45% of their 2019 gross revenue, up to $10 million.
The toolkit also has downloadable social media images, ready to use for both Facebook and Instagram along with #TravelAdvisorDay21. There’s the National Travel Advisor Day logo, social media page posts, and social media story posts.
