The newest river cruise operator in the Americas will start sailing this summer.
The French America Line will sail 5- to 10-day cruises using a single ship, the Louisiane, starting in August. It will offer sailings on the Mississippi, Ohio, Tennessee, Cumberland, and Red Rivers, and in the Gulf Coast waterways.
The Louisiane will homeport in New Orleans, and sport French-inspired décor in its 75 staterooms, with a full-service spa and five restaurants and bars onboard.
The ship originally sailed for the Delta Queen Steamboat Company as the Columbia Queen before the company went out of business in 2008. She has been refurbished and rebranded for the new sailings.
French America’s prices are all-inclusive, with WiFi in public areas, in-room iPads with e-books and cruise programs, and one hotel night before the cruise included in the price. Its 10-day sailings are priced at $4,599 per person.
