Starlink's march to Wi-Fi dominance within the cruise industry continues with Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings and Aqua Expeditions both signing up for the superfast service.

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings
NCL Holdings plans to offer Starlink onboard all three of its brands: Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises, and Regent Seven Seas Cruises. Currently the company is testing the service on Norwegian Breakaway, but plans a phased rollout.

"We are thrilled to offer Starlink onboard our ships to improve internet connectivity at sea," said Harry Sommer, president and CEO-elect of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, Ltd. "This initiative is a testament to our continuous quest to find new and innovative ways to enhance the experience for both guests and crew while sailing on our award-winning brands. Ensuring that this technology meets our high standards of excellence for our guests is incredibly important to us, which is why we are introducing this cutting-edge technology across our fleet in a phased manner."

Assuming the current trial is successful, NCL Holdings will equip seven additional vessels with Starlink by the year-end, including onboard all three of the company's newest ships: Oceania Cruises' Vista, Norwegian Viva, and Regent's Seven Seas Grandeur.

A comprehensive rollout plan is under development for the rest of the company's vessels.

Aqua Expeditions
Small ship expedition cruise company Aqu Expeditions introduced Starlink on three of its ships – Aqua Mare, Aqua Nera, and Aqua Blu – in March 2023. The line's two remaining ships – Aria Amazon and Aqua Mekong – will receive the service this September.

"I am excited to offer reliable quality internet service to our guests and grew," said Francesco Galli Zugaro, CEO & founder of Aqua Expeditions. "Our goal is to provide the best possible Wi-Fi connection to allow guests to stay in touch with friends and family, particularly during our longer voyages of seven, 12 and 14 nights."

Guests on all ships have access to two hours of complimentary Wi-Fi per day, or they can purchase unlimited Wi-Fi at $100 per person for the duration of their sailing.
