Jewel of the Seas Set for $30 Million Renovation

Royal Caribbean’s Jewel of the Seas will get a full bow-to-stern makeover before sailing the 2016 summer season in the Mediterranean, the company announced today. The ship will get new staterooms and restaurants along with an upgrade in its technology and on-board entertainment.

New two-bedroom suites and 24 new balconies will be added. Three new restaurants—Giovanni’s Table, Vintages, and Izumi—will join the dining venues already onboard the Jewel. The ship also will receive a new poolside movie screen and VOOM, Royal Caribbean’s onboard Wi-Fi, before setting sail from Rome on a variety of Eastern Mediterranean itineraries starting in May.
