TripAdvisor’s Viator Launches New Travel Agent Booking Platform Called TAP

TripAdvisor’s online tour booking agency Viator has launched a new travel agent booking platform that will allow agents to book more than 70,000 commissionable tours and attractions.
The platform, called the Travel agent Program or TAP, will allow both agencies and independent agents to register and book tours without any fees or restrictions and receive commission directly without waiting for a third-party to process payment.
“We’ve designed TAP specifically for travel agents and their businesses,” head of growth at Viator Ben Drew said in a statement. “For the first time, agents will have direct access to the world’s largest collection of attractions and tours, and we’re working to make their booking experience seamless.”
TAP will also allow agents to access monthly performance reports, pricing in multiple currencies, training programs, and TripAdvisor destination guides.
According to Viator, thousands of agents have already been invited to test TAP and the results have been positive.
“We’re glad that Viator understands and appreciates the value of travel agents. We recently signed up for the Viator Travel Agent Program and we’re very happy with it - it makes bookings easier and more profitable for us,” Ellen Klein, a manager at TZell Travel Group Long Island who took part in the testing said.
