VIVA Cruises to Sail the Douro for First Time
by Dori Saltzman /VIVA Cruises, a Europe-based river cruise operator, launched is 2025 brochure, which includes its first ever sailings on the Douro River in Portugal.
"We recorded increased demand last year, particularly from international markets," said Andrea Kruse, CEO of VIVA Cruises. "We want to meet this demand in the coming year with new departure and landing ports, new routes, and new content."
A highlight of the 2025 deployment is the arrival of the all-new PORTO MIRANTE, which will cruise on the Douro River starting in May 2025 offering trips to and from Porto. Ports along the sailing will be Leverinho, Regua, Vega Terron, and Pinhão.
The line has also added new ports of call to its sailing program including Lelystad, Middelburg, and Bruinisse in the Netherlands, and Braubach in Germany.
Also new will be a five-night option that sails roundtrip from Passau onboard VIVA TWO.
