FIFA World Cup Increases Travel to Brazil

The FIFA World Cup has led to increased travel to Brazil from the U.S., according to Amadeus’ Travel Intelligence Division. The U.S. registered a 68% increase in flights to Brazil between May and August of this year compared to the same period in 2013, a year which had already showed strong growth. Bookings from Europe to Brazil for FIFA are also strong. They increased by about 60% compared with bookings for the same period in 2013. The largest number of bookings come from the U.K., France and Germany.
