The second Four Seasons in Australia is five years away, but it is already making headlines.

Four Seasons this week announced that its new hotel in Melbourne, which will kick-off construction in late 2022 and will debut about five years after that, will crown the western tower of the STH BNK By Beulah, a building that is expected to be the tallest in Australia and a mini-metropolis in itself.

The new hotel’s lobby will open on the 63rd floor of the building, giving guests panoramic views over the city’s skyline, beachfront, and the Royal Botanical Gardens. Outside of the 210 rooms on-site, Four Seasons promises that the hotel will also offer “a world-class integrate health and wellness experience, a sprawling rooftop restaurant and bar, and multiple event spaces.”

Aside from being the tallest building in Australia, STH BNK will also debut with the world’s tallest vertical garden at just under 3.5 miles long (5.5 km), which is the length of Melbourne’s iconic Tan Track, the city’s most popular running route around the Botanical Gardens, nearly 1.5 times over.

Four Seasons said this week that it hopes the garden’s integration into STH BNK and into its new Melbourne hotel would set a precedent for future skyscrapers to incorporate a natural environment.

“We are incredibly proud to partner with Beulah and to be a part of the leading-edge STH BNK By Beulah development. This project will set a new standard for luxury in Melbourne, offering guests an exceptional Four Seasons experience set within an environment that will be unmatched in this market,” Bart Carnahan, the president of Global Business Development and Portfolio Management at Four Seasons said.

“At Four Seasons, we look for opportunities where we can be part of innovative new projects, with partners who share our vision for excellence – Four Seasons Hotel Melbourne is no exception, and we look forward to welcoming guests through our doors in the years ahead.”

Guests at the hotel will also have access to the building's on-site amenities, including working facilities, the STH BNK Market Hall, and more.
