Adam Goldstein, the longtime Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. (RCL) executive who most recently served as vice chairman, has left the cruise company after more than 30 years, news that was first reported by Seatrade Cruise News.
Goldstein first joined the cruise company in 1988. He was appointed president, and then president and CEO of Royal Caribbean International from 2005 until 2005, where he moved to president and COO of RCL until 2018. Since 2018, he has been serving as vice chairman.
In a statement to Travel Market Report, a spokesperson for RCL confirmed Goldstein’s departure and applauded his tenure at the cruise company.
“Adam Goldstein has made countless contributions to our company since the day he came to RCL in 1988,” the spokesperson said.
“Adam worked his way up through various roles at the company to eventually serve as president and CEO of Royal Caribbean International, president and COO of RCL, and most recently as vice chairman.
“Every step of the way, our company was growing, strengthening and becoming more successful – and the parallels between Adam’s achievements and the company’s are no accident. Adam will always be family to us and we wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
According to Seatrade, Goldstein will continue to serve Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) as global chair, a role he has occupied since 2018, and had previously occupied in 2015 and 2016.
