Willamette Valley Oregon to Serve as Host of Tourism Cares’ 2024 Travel Summit
by Dori Saltzman /Tourism Cares’ 2024 fall Meaningful Travel Summit will be held in Eugene Oregon, Sept. 30 to Oct. 2. The Willamette Valley Visitors Association will support the event offering participants an overview of the region’s culture, heritage, and natural resources.
As part of the event, attendees will have the chance to explore the Willamette Valley region and engage with local communities through facilitated networking opportunities, educational sessions, workshops, tours, and volunteer experiences.
“We are thrilled about Willamette Valley Visitors Association’s investment in our Meaningful Travel Program, and their dedication towards sustainability truly embodies the hard work that needs to happen around meaningful travel,” said Greg Takehara, CEO of Tourism Cares.
“Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do in the Willamette Valley,” said Dawnielle Tehama, executive director of the WVVA. “We look forward to hosting the Summit next year and serving as a leader for other travel professionals in destinations stewardship and meaningful travel.”
As part of their partnership, the WVVA will be included on Tourism Cares’ newly relaunched Meaningful Travel Map – an interactive B2B tool that helps the travel trade and sustainably minded visitors find community-led experiences, products, services, accommodations, and tours.
