Open to U.S. Travelers, Costa Rica Tourism and Avanti Launch Campaign of Custom Vacations

Avanti Destinations and Costa Rica Tourism have launched a joint campaign to help advisors inspire FIT clients to take a customized vacation in Costa Rica, now open to American travelers. The Central American country began welcoming U.S. tourists in November 2020.

The joint promotion consists of a new 62-page downloadable e-brochure, Experience Costa Rica, available on Avanti’s travel advisor portal, a microsite, and two themed webinars on April 8 and April 21, 2021.

The jointly produced resources are organized around four themes: recharge, thrill, balance, and connect. Recharge has to do with relaxation and wellness experiences. Thrill is what characterizes the many soft adventure activities we offer, such as ziplining, whitewater rafting, canyoneering and waterfall jumping, among many others. Balance explains our country’s respect for the environment, striking a balance between nature and civilization. Connect is about sharing the travel experience with family, friends and romantic partners.

Avanti is offering travel advisors a $25 gift card for each passenger booked to Costa Rica in 2021 and 2022.

“Costa Rica has always been Avanti’s best-selling destination in Central America, and it is the perfect place for independent travelers to go right now,” said Paul Barry, Avanti’s CEO. “Whether your clients are solo travelers, couples or small groups of family and friends, this destination has something to appeal to everyone.”

Barry also added that 26% of the area of this small country committed to ecologically sustainable tourism has been set aside in national parks, conservation areas, and biological reserves, “with plenty of space for safe social distancing.”

Designed to be shared with clients, the new e-brochure highlights 10 customizable itineraries combining two or more destinations in Costa Rica.  One recommended vacation is specifically designed for families (Costa Rica Family Adventure), another is dedicated to romance (Costa Rica Romantic Escape), and a third to adventure (Costa Rica Adventure).

For each of the 10 featured destinations in the e-brochure, two or three select accommodations are profiled – many of them eco-lodges and eco-resorts where guests stay in private bungalows and villas.

Among the 33 private and shared experiences and activities described in the e-brochure, which can be added to customize any vacation, are tour of a Bribri indigenous tribal reserve explaining how cacao has been grown and chocolate produced by native peoples since pre-Columbian times; private mountain bike tour in Arenal; several night tours to observe nocturnal wildlife in Monteverde and Arenal; family surfing lesson for beginners; butterfly farm tour; frog pond tour; horseback riding tours; slow river rafting, as well as several whitewater rafting tours in different parts of the country.

Avanti’s complete lineup of Costa Rica products includes a total of 15 suggested vacation itineraries in Costa Rica, 75 three- to five-star hotels, resorts and eco-lodges, and more than 100 experiences and activities.

As with all Avanti vacations, there are no fees for changes made 15 or more days prior to departure.
