Regent Seven Seas announced today that it has signed an agreement with Fincantieri shipbuilders to add a new ship, a sister ship to Seven Seas Explorer and Seven Seas Splendor, to be delivered in 2023.
The ship, the sixth in the Regent fleet, will sail 750 guests in Regent’s signature ultra-luxury accommodations.
“We are excited to build on the spectacular success of Seven Seas Explorer and Seven Seas Splendor as we embark on bringing to life a new vessel that will set an even higher benchmark for elegance, luxury and style,” Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings’ Frank Del Rio said in a statement.
With the order, Norwegian now has ships on order for all three of its brand—Regent, Norwegian Cruise Line, and Oceania Cruises—11 ships total. Its next one, Norwegian Encore, will come into service in the fall. Splendor, the next one from Regent, is currently being constructed and is set for a 2020 debut.
“These are exciting times for everyone associated with Regent Seven Seas Cruises and we can’t wait to show you what’s next,” Regent President and CEO Jason Montague said.
Regent is expected to release more details on the ship as the delivery date gets closer, but as a sister ship to both Explorer and Splendor, guests can expect some of the same ultra-luxury features, including, perhaps, the $10,000-per-night Regent Suite, Canyon Ranch Spa Club, the Constellation Theater, and an all-inclusive rate.
According to TMR’s second Ocean Cruise Report Card for Travel Agents, 80 percent of Regent’s sales come from travel agents.
