AmaWaterways Adding New Ship to European Fleet in 2020

by Daniel McCarthy / April 08, 2019
AmaWaterways Adding New Ship to European Fleet in 2020

AmaSiena will set sail on Main, Rhine & Moselle River Journeys in July 2020.

AmaWaterways today announced its plans to add a new ship to its European fleet on July 1, 2020, called AmaSiena.

It will debut as a sister ship to AmaMora, AmaLea, and AmaKristina, sailing 156 guests in 78 twin balcony staterooms with French or outside balconies and a variety of dining choices including the Main Restaurant and The Chef’s Table Restaurant.

“With the introduction of AmaSiena, we’re happy to be bringing more of our brand of personalized, luxury river cruising to our guests,” AmaWaterways president and co-founder Rudi Schreiner said in a statement announcing the news.

AmaSiena will boast four 350 square-foot suites, six pairs of connecting staterooms, and 12 triple occupancy staterooms that AmaWaterways has designed for multi-generational families. The ship will also have heated Sun Deck swimming pool with a swim-up bar, a fitness room, an onboard fleet of bicycles, and a trained Wellness Host to lead onboard classes.

When it debuts, AmaSiena's itineraries will include the 10-night Rhine & Moselle Delights and 11-night Rhine & Moselle Fairytales between Amsterdam and Basel.

AmaWaterways is currently readying for the launch of AmaMagna, its newest ship set to debut this coming summer. AmaMagna is slated to be almost twice the length of traditional river cruise ships, though it will only welcome 20 percent more guests than normal, giving each guest more space both in and outside of their cabins.
